Based on previous history and planned activities, we expect total attendance at SASA 2009 to be 380-400 people.

Book Display and Program Advertising Information.

If you have questions beyond the scope of this page, please contact us at  info@sasia.org.

The program will be comb bound, 8.5” wide by 11” long.  All advertisements will appear at the back of the book, after all conference program information.  Your advertisement will be listed in the table of contents at the beginning of the program booklet.

In order to ensure that your display is listed in the conference program the display tables fee must be paid for by March 2, 2009.  Display materials must be received by March 24, 2009.  Shipping information will be provided after receipt of the display table fee.

For conference booklet advertising, the following guidlines apply:

  1. Paid for and received by March 2, 2009
  2. Sent to us as an e-mail attachment.
  3. Sent in grayscale or color as appropriate
  4. We work in Windows only and cannot accept Macintosh formatted files.
  5. The attachment must be in one of the following formats: PDF, JPEG or Microsoft Word
  6. File resolution is your decision.  We suggest a minimum resolution of 250dpi.
  7. We do not touch-up or resize ad copy.

Payment is handled for us by PayPal.  You may pay using a PayPal account or any major credit card.  We would appreciate receiving contact information beyond what PayPal will provide us.  Please do this via an email to Dr. Paul Hanson at ph@sasia.org.

Thank you for your support.

Book Display FAQ

  1. Is there a limit on the number of titles that we can send?  Unless you are renting a table, there is no limit.  If renting, whatever you think can fit appropriately on a standard 8 foot library table.books small
  2. Do we have to purchase advertising to participate in the book exhibit?  No, advertising and book exhibits are separate items.  However, exhibitors receive a listing in the conference program.
  3. Do you change a table rental fee?  That depends.  If you do not sent a representative there is no table rental fee.  Instead, all display material is considered a donation to SASA.  We sell the material at the end of the conference, typically for half of the list price.  If you send a representative we charge a table rental fee because we derive no income from sales.  Normally the host university charges us table rental and setup fees.  We also purchase or rent table cloths.  Our rental fee is intended to recover these and other costs.
  4. How will the book exhibit be staffed?  The exhibit is staffed by graduate students we pay to monitor the tables to ensure that books do not walk out the door.  The exhibit is in the same space as our coffee breaks and registration table, ensuring complete foot traffic by conference attendees and adding additional supervision to the area.book table small
  5. What happens to the books once the conference is complete?  After the last panel sessions on Saturday we sell the books for half the list price.  We use these funds to pay the graduate students.  Anything left over goes to conference general expenses.  Graduate assistants get first clain mon unsold books; what is left over is donated to the host school’s library.
  6. How many copies of each title are needed?  We would like multiple copies; typically we are provided three or four copies of each volume, sometimes more, sometimes less.
  7. Can we also send order forms and catalogues?  We are happy to handle order forms and catalogs for you.
